DIMAPUR, SEP 23 (NPN): Match Day 8 of the DDFL cum Late Hejeto Ayemi Trophy produced contrasting results with Kachari Sports Club clinching a narrow 3-2 victory over Indisen FC, while Akito FC registered a comfortable 2-0 win against Zeliangrong Village Youth Club (B) on Wednesday at the DDSC Stadium.
In Match 15, Kachari SC struck early through Jasten Mech in the 3rd minute, followed by Avinash Mech’s goal in the 24th minute. Indisen pulled one back via an own goal from Wapang LKR in the 27th minute.
The second half saw drama as Avinash Mech was sent off, but Theishingkhul Mungleng converted a penalty to level the score. Nokrenyuba later added another for Indisen, but Kachari SC held firm and sealed the win with decisive play. Yash (6) of Kachari SC was named Player of the Match. Akito enjoyed 60% possession and produced 10 shots, six of which were on target, while Zeliangrong managed 12 shots but lacked finishing quality.
