Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) held a consultative/workshop with stake holders on various activities on District Legal Services Authority (DLSA’s) on March 24 at Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) front office.
A press release from Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Dimapur stated that various topics were discussed on how to implement the law effectively and also to provide legal aid by way of seminars and different provisions of law were also discussed.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. C. Tetseo emphasized on the topic of abuse of tobacco and also on ways to control, enforce and implement the sale of tobacco and other products to minors under the COPTA Act 2003.
Deputy CMO, district hospital Dimapur, Dr. Anitoli also gave an assurance that the DDLSA would work in cooperation with the enforcing agencies.
Representatives from Childline Dimapur and SAKHI also gave a brief status report on the implementation of its projects.
Director, Prodigals Home, Ela also emphasized on the examination on Child victims under the POCSO Act, 2012, for creating child friendly environments when conducting medical tests on them.
Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) Director, Sister Parmila gave a brief report on registered domestic workers numbering about 1050 in Dimapur, and appealed to the NGO’s to work effectively and also to the DDLSA to provide legal aid by way of seminars for the domestic workers.
Principal district & sessions judge cum Chairman, DDLSA, Neikuo Kanuo gave the concluding remarks and assured of their legal aid on any issue.
The consultative/workshop was conducted by advocate, Glory Sema who was also the moderator for the programme.
