Legal awareness campaign was organized by Dimapur District Legal Service Authority (DDLSA) and criminal justice fellowship program, Tata Institute of Social Sciences with the under trial prisoners of Dimapur Central Jail which was also attended by the prison officials and panel lawyers.
At the programme, prisoners were made aware of their prisoner rights, arrested person rights, the legal aid and its schemes provided by the state.
Advocates Esther, Zachariah, Zuchembeni were the speakers and Criminal Justice Fellow, Nikita gave the ending note by speaking on why prisoner rights are important. The programme was followed by interaction hour where prisoners spoke about their issues/grievances. Earlier, the programme was chaired by advocate Sentimenla.
