DDLSA observes World Consumer Rights Day

Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) organized a legal awareness programme at Chungaizaeng Rongmei Colony, Dimapur, in observance of World Consumer Rights Day on March 15.

The programme was chaired by PLV Makuran Rongmei and featured Panel Lawyers Sangto Longchar and Khumchuba as resource persons.

Sangto Longchar delivered a session on the functioning of the District Legal Services Authority and basic legal rights. He covered important legal aspects such as FIR procedures, bail, victim compensation, and Lok Adalat.

Khumchuba spoke on consumer rights, complaint mechanisms, and redressal, emphasizing the significance of the Consumer Protection Act and the importance of World Consumer Rights Day.

The awareness programme aimed to empower citizens with knowledge of their legal and consumer rights, ensuring better access to justice for all.

The program concluded with a pledge to uphold consumer rights and spread awareness within the community. DDLSA reaffirmed its commitment to provide legal aid and ensuring that everyone, regardless of socio-economic background, has access to justice.
