District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Dimapur has prohibited swimming, fishing or picnicking along Dhansiri river.
In an advisory, ADC & CEO, DDMA Dimapur Mhalo Humtsoe stated that with the onset of monsoon the district had witness several cases of drowning in Dhansiri this season. In order to avoid mishaps and prevent loss of life, DDMA Dimapur in collaboration with NSDMA has put up “Warning Boards/Danger Signage” along the banks of Dhansiri with the participation of village and ward councils, student and youth bodies.
