DDMAs of Wokha, Golaghat discuss excess water at Doyang

A teams of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Wokha led by DC Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan along with SP Wokha, Aotula Imchen and DDMA Golaghat led by DC Golaghat, Golaghat Uday Praveen visited Doyan dam and interacted with the officials of the Doyang Hydroelectric Power Station, NEEPCO on August 12.


A DIPR report, informed that the DDMA from both the districts held in-depth discussion on the operation of the spillway radial gates and mechanism for release of excess water discharge from the Doyang water reservoir.


The teams reviewed the coordination mechanism between the two DDMAs and NEEPCO for release of excess water and deliberated on strengthening the system for sharing of information between all the stakeholders and for prompt response to water discharge. Officials from Assam State Disaster Management Authority, Executive Engineer, Water Resources, Wokha, DDMO Wokha were also present.
