The declaration programme for National People’s Party (NPP) candidate I. Abenjang for the upcoming by-election to 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency was held at Kinunger, Aliba and Chungtia villages on Monday.
Declaring his candidature, Abenjang appealed to the electorate to cast their votes in his favour. He described Koridang constituency as unique, characterized by nationalism, patriotism and identity, which he termed the political “trinity.” He said the by-poll would mark a political revival and resurrection for the constituency.
Highlighting the NPP’s ideology and manifesto, Abenjang said the party stands strongly for youth and women empowerment, the underprivileged, and transparency in governance. NPP national vice president, Vevoyi Wideo, also spoke at the programme, appealing to the electorate to support the party’s candidate and reiterating that NPP stands for the underprivileged.
Meanwhile, the three villages informed that their gates remain open to all candidates, while cautioning that violence among supporters would not be tolerated and violators would be penalized as per law.
