Dedicatory programme held at Mokokchung mini secretariat site

DIMAPUR: A dedicatory prayer service was held at Wazako Lu, the site for proposed construction of Mokokchung district mini secretariat on Thursday.
In a press release, press secretary to the minister informed that during the programme, minister for PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozüküm acknowledged the landowners of Mokokchung village on behalf of the state government and the department for allotting the site for the project.
He lauded the farsightedness of Mokokchung village elders from Aolepden Semchir (descendants) of Longkumer clan for parting with their ancestral land in order to pave way for developmental activities.
The minister said the district mini secretariat would arguably be the biggest project undertaken in the district till date.
He hoped that its installation would pave way for growth and progress of Mokokchung town as the area was viable for expansion in the near future with good and ample environment.
Earlier, dedication prayer for the site was offered by Mokokchung Village Baptist Church pastor, Wati Pongen in the presence of deputy commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh department officials, Mokokchung village elders and others.
It may be mentioned that the foundation stone for the district mini secretariat would be laid by chief minister Neiphiu Rio on April 29.
