Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem holds freshers’ meet

Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem (DAKT) held its 30th freshers’ meet on September 28 at Nagaland House, New Delhi. 

A press release from DAKT general secretary, Repatemsu Jamir stated that, chief speaker Dr. Imosongla Jamir, assistant professor at Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi, spoke on the importance of youth in driving the nation’s economy forward and making best use of the country’s demographic dividend. 

He encouraged the students to be a part of the group that will lead the nation forward. 

Tarenla Imchen, in her exhortation emphasized on the importance of mother tongue and the need to preserve “our” unique culture in today’s world which was becoming more homogenized.

President, DAKT, Rongsensuwa Jamir emphasized on the importance and meaning of the motto, “Telongjem Nung Terenlok.” Dr. Walunir Tzudir, Delhi Ao Senso Telongjem, spoke on the importance of renovating skills and pursuits to match the times and encouraged the students to become a producer of knowledge and not just a consumer.

A speech on behalf of the freshers was given by Kilemjungla Lemtur. The programme also featured a cultural drama and a song. Later an informal session on the theme “Musique de la Nuit” was conducted.
