Delhi Police Trace Three Missing Children, Reunite Them with Families

New Delhi, May 16 (IANS): The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Delhi Police Crime Branch successfully traced and reunited three missing minors with their families in separate operations conducted across Delhi and Surat, Gujarat, police said on Saturday. In the first case, a 12-year-old boy who had been missing since 2021 was rescued from Delhi’s Vikas Nagar area by an AHTU team led by Inspector Manoj Dahiya under the supervision of ACP Suresh Kumar. Investigation revealed that the boy’s mother had passed away four to five years ago, after which his father remarried, and the boy had allegedly fled home after his stepmother frequently scolded him, taking refuge at Baprola Park and Shiv Mandir during the years he was missing. In the second case, a 16-year-old girl reported missing on April 17 was traced to the Dhiraj Nagar area of Surat, where she had eloped with a boy from her school and the two had been living together in a rented accommodation.

In a third and similar case, another 16-year-old girl who had eloped with a boy from her neighbourhood was also found in Surat’s Ram Nagar area by the same AHTU team, where the boy had started working at a restaurant and the two had rented accommodation in the city. All three operations were conducted by an AHTU team comprising Inspector Manoj Dahiya, Head Constable Pardeep, Constable Ashok Kumar, and other personnel, under the supervision of ACP AHTU Suresh Kumar. Officials highlighted that the AHTU teams navigated time and distance complexities using sharp technical surveillance, field intelligence, and human sensitivity to ensure every missing child was traced and safely reunited with their families.
