Demonstration on ‘first aid & rescue operation’ in Mkg

Civil defence and home guards of Mokokchung carried out a demonstration on “first aid & rescue operation’”, Friday for 147 students of Government Middle School, Mokokchung village.
Speaking to media on the sideline, SP civil defence & home guards of Mokokchung, Watilemba said the demonstration was carried out on the request of the school administration, which he said was the first request of its kind, from a village level institution in Mokokchung.
Watilemba opined that most of the calamities occur due to manmade disasters, such as heavy constructions without proper architectural guidance, proper light wiring, systematic drainages, etc.
He also pointed out that Nagaland falls in the earthquake prompt zone and so people should always be prepared. “Natural calamities may strike at any time and the students will be the first responder that is the reason, why the management is trying to equip them with the best possible basic aids for emergencies”, Watilemba added.
Watilemba said the department was ever willing to administer practical assistance to any institutions.
