Demonstration on kharif crops

ATMA Tuensang, Noksen Block, in collaboration with ECS, conducted training, demonstration, and capacity-building programs on April 12 and 14, 2025 at Yokumsang and Yonyu villages to equip farmers with latest techniques and best practices for cultivating kharif crop.


In a press release ATMA, Tuensang BTM Noksen Block, Suponglemla Chang informed that resource person, ATM Wetosangla Chang trained participants on ‘kharif crop cultivation’, introducing maize variety HQPM-5 and paddy IR64. She stressed the importance of seed selection and crop management.


A hands-on demonstration on ‘Line Sowing of Kharif Crops’ was conducted by BTM, Suponglemla Chang while a capacity-building program was conducted on April 14 at Yonyu village for farmer interest group.

Resource person ATM Wetosangla highlighted on enhancing kharif crops yields through intercropping, importance of intercropping with legumes for soil health, followed by a demonstration kharif crops, maize and bush bean.

Altogether, 26 farmers from two villages benefited from the program while seeds of maize (HQPM), paddy (IR 64), bush beans, bio fertilizer and micro nutrients were distributed.
