A combined team of State Disaster Response Force team (SDRF) DEF from Wokha and C.D & Home Guard, Wokha conducted demonstration on earthquake drill, search and rescue and emergency first aid on April 27 and 28 at four educational institutions.
The demonstration was held in Wokha Government Higher Secondary School, Libemo Memorial School, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Mt. Tiyi College.
During the programme, topics on precautionary step, points to be followed during/after an earthquake and other emergency situations, patient injury assessment, management, C.R.P procedure, different method of bandaging, tourniquets applied for fracture, injuries etc, stretcher techniques for moving, transfer of injured, casualties from incident site to safe zone, different method of knotting which are useful during emergency situations were imparted to the students.
S.P, Wokha T. Chumrenthung Lotha lauded the combined SDRF team from DEF and C.D. and home guard for the enthusiasm shown during the demonstration.
Lotha further encouraged them to conduct more such programmes for the better awareness among the students as well as the general public in the light of unpredictable geological conditions in the country in general and the state in particular.
