Despite stiff opposition from various quarters against shifting of the deputy commissioner office Dimapur to the new complex at Chümoukedima, the state government has reportedly asked DC Dimapur to immediately shift the District Election Office and Disaster Management cell.
Besides shifting of DEO office and DM cell, principal secretary Home Abhijit Sinha in a letter had also asked the DC to make necessary arrangements for shifting of other branches at an early date. Sinha said the two newly posted officials– ADC and EAC, will supervise the process. It was also learnt that several Dimapur-based civil society organizations held an emergency meeting on Monday to deliberate on the issue.
