Postal department conducted “Dak Community Development Program” under the banner “Bring government to your doorstep” at Chuchuyimpang village on October 10. The program was an initiative of the India Post especially for the rural areas to educate about the banking system besides the various benefits and services the post offices offer to the people.
At the program, the officials from the post office explained that post offices were not about letters but also include post office bank. Besides, various schemes and benefits especially for women and children were shared at the programme. Temsumoa Imsong, village council chairman Chuchuyimpang while speaking at the program expressed gratitude to the postal department for conducting the program to educate the people about the various schemes and benefits.
At the program Superintendent of Post, Nagaland Division L. Tiken Singh delivered the welcome address and explained the objective of the program. The program also witnessed short speeches by Tajunginla, Coordinator PMMVY (DHEW), Maongsangla, Deputy District Agriculture Officer and I. Mangliyangba District Welfare Officer.
Also officials from the postal department explained about the various postal products by Narola Jamir Postmaster Mokokchung MDG and Simranjeet Gumber, Manager India Post Payment Bank, Mokokchung. The vote of thanks was delivered by Kevikhrielie Kirha, Sub-Divisional Inspector of Post Offices, Mokokchung.
