Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (DoESDE), Department of School Education (DoSE), and National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) on March 30 held a joint meeting was held on March 30 to develop a roadmap on “initiating the skilling activities” at School of Excellence in Skill Development (SoESD) established at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Zubza.
According to a DIPR report, SoESD was established through a MoU signed by the three departments to develop Information Technology (IT) competencies, create awareness about cyber security and safety, and prepare young students from classes VIII to X for the future of work.
The meeting was attended by additional secretary & ex-officio director, DoESDE, Kovi Meyase, NIELIT director, Lanuwapang and GHSS Zubza headmaster, Visashielie Suohu.
During the meeting, the stakeholders decided the following – to begin the level 1 courses for class VIII students on April 10; to promote optimum utilization of the SoESD, NIELIT agreed to train two batches of 40 candidates in Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) course for the unemployed youths and students, who have appeared in their class X & XII exams at the SoESD; a one-week training for teaching faculty to be conducted at SoESD; students at SoESD to be taken to NIELIT on April 4 to promote experiential learning.
