A felicitation programme for L. Khumo Khiam, Advisor of the Department of Economics & Statistics was held on April 4 at the DES Conference Hall. According to DIPR, the programme was chaired by the Director, Y. Sacheo Ovung. He welcomed the Advisor and congratulated him on behalf of the Department. An appraisal of the activities of the Department was presented by R. Kronu, Addl. Director.
Khiam in his speech thanked the Department for organising a programme to welcome him. Considering the achievements and activities undertaken, he acknowledged the Director and the staff and stated that the Department is an important functionary of the State. Elaborating the work ethics and culture that needs to be followed, he said that the Department should be an example for other Departments in the State.
Assuring the department of the best of his time and service as long as he is with the Department, he called for cooperation of each and everyone to strengthen the Department for the benefit of all.
