Reacting to the statement made by NPF Press and Information Cell (P&IC), ACAUT said that the “empty response of NPF P&IC (TR/Rio)” was a desperate attempt to save their skin in the eyes of the public and pretend to have responded.
In a press note, ACAUT media cell stated that the allegation by P&IC, that it was showing favoritism to Dr. Shürhozolie camp, was utter nonsense.
It rather reminded the P&IC that when Dr. Shürhozelie was the chief minister, ACAUT had challenged him on his letter encouraging backdoor appointment.
The media cell said that the corruption issues raised by ACAUT, ranging from backdoor, MNREGA, PDS scams, fuel adulteration, poor state of roads & bridges, to misappropriation of thousands of crores of developmental funds etc., spanning the last 10-15 years or so implicated everyone. “Therefore, the allegation that the chief minister T.R. Zeliang is being specifically targeted does not fool anyone,” it added.
ACAUT said the endorsement of the 65000 plus crowd, who had voiced their frustration during the August 25 “All Nagaland Public Rally” against the government, was a referendum against mis-governance of the last few decades, presently beset by infighting and corruption.
ACAUT also maintained that the Governor take cognizance of the people’s frustration and angst if he was for the people.
With regard to RTI the issue, ACAUT advised NPF P&IC (TR/Rio), “before pointing its dirty finger”, to first find out from the OSD, Finance department as to whether he had mentioned T.R. Zeliang’s name or not.
As far as the ACAUT was concerned, it only expressed what it had been told by the OSD, the media cell stated.
