Members of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) at the meeting held on December 9, discussed on various developmental proposals for Dimapur district.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman DPDB, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang. At the meeting, DC welcomed new members Thungchanbemo Tungoe, CEO, Dimapur Municipal Council and Er. Hutivi Swu, Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department.
The board also reviewed the progress on the proposed upgradation of Wotsa Fine Arts College located at Model Colony, East Dimapur and and forwarded to the government for consideration.
The board also approved and forwarded to the concerned department for the renewal of the registration of Public College, Dimapur, and the registration of its memorandum of association.
Under the agenda for registration of societies, the following were discussed and approved by the board and forwarded to the government: Dimapur Sakshi Union; Sakshi Cultural Society; United Baptist Church Convention; Coal Mining Association Nagaland; United Kachari Baptist Church Association and Sumi Baptist Church.
PowerPoint presentations were given by the Agriculture department reflecting on an overview of their current projects and initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural productivity in the district. Similarly, Horticulture department showcased its recent achievements and plans for promoting sustainable horticulture practices in Dimapur.
In conclusion, DC expressed gratitude to all officers and staff for their support in ensuring the smooth and peaceful conduct of both the Lok Sabha and Municipal elections, in Dimapur. This was stated in a DIPR report.
