DFP organizes workshop on govt achievements

Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), ministry of Information & Broadcasting (Nagaland & Manipur Region) organized a one-day regional workshop cum launch of special  outreach programme  to highlight  the two-year achievements of the government of India under the theme  “my country is changing – marching forward” at the circuit house, Kohima on June 25.
According to DIPR report, director of postal services, department of Post Kohima, R.M. Patel as chief guest said that the role of service providing department, such as DFP, postal department and other similar departments were vital in ensuring the success of any government welfare schemes. He also exhorted DFP to create meaningful publicity so that the needy and the eligible beneficiaries were empowered.
Principal Modern College, Dr. H.P. Singh who was the guest of honour, underscored the need to empower youth with skills in order to meet the challenges of growing unemployment and poverty. 
Addressing the gathering as the president of the function, joint director IPR, Dominic Yazokie said that though information and publicity department may not perform any tangible or physical development, their role was equally important as it empowered the common people with information and knowledge. 
In his keynote address, director DFP (Nagaland & Manipur) region, Dr. Engam Pame, IIS said that through valuable inputs from resource persons on various subjects and relevant themes, the workshop would effectively equip and educate field officers. He informed that DFP would be reaching out to the people living at the grassroot and micro level by carrying out intensive awareness campaign on the two-year achievements of the central government in the region of Nagaland and Manipur.
During the technical session, resource persons were asstt. director, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Zubemo Lotha, SA department of postal services, Daniel Domeh, DWO, department of social welfare, Bino presented an overview of their respective departments and deliberated on the various central government schemes.
