DG Assam Rifles reviews securityalong Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur

Director General of Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera on Wednesday visited a forward post in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district to assess the security situation and review the welfare of personnel stationed along the Indo–Myanmar border.
During the visit, the Director General was briefed on the prevailing security dynamics, including operational deployments, surveillance systems and the coordination framework with other security agencies.
Officials highlighted the challenges posed by the difficult terrain, unpredictable weather conditions and evolving security threats in the border belt. Lt Gen Lakhera interacted extensively with the troops, praising their professionalism and dedication in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers amid demanding circumstances.
He also acknowledged their contributions toward assisting the civil administration and instilling confidence among local communities, the Assam Rifles said in a post on its social media platforms. It added that the DG carried out a detailed review of administrative and logistic arrangements at the post, inspecting accommodation facilities, infrastructure maintenance, medical support systems and essential services available to the personnel.
Stressing the importance of troop morale, he assured that measures would be taken to further improve living and working conditions. Calling for sustained vigilance and adaptability, Lt Gen Lakhera emphasised the adoption of modern technology and strengthened coordination among security forces for more effective border management.
