DG of ATI holds interactive session with NCS (Probationers)

Director general, V Shashank Shekhar, Administrative Training Institute (ATI), held an interactive session with the Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) Probationers of the 2024 Batch on August 30, at the ATI campus.
According to a press release, the 16 NCS Probationers are currently undergoing the one-year NCS Probationers’ Foundation Course at ATI, which commenced in November 2024. The probationers have recently completed Phase-II of their District Training and are now preparing for the upcoming Bharat Darshan Study Tour, which includes visits to the Institute of Management in Government, Kerala, Netaji Subhas Administrative Training Institute, West Bengal, and the State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (SIPARD), Tripura.
During the interaction, Shekhar appreciated the strong academic background of the probationers and encouraged them to share their first-hand experiences from the district training phase. He emphasized the importance of solution-oriented discussions when addressing administrative challenges.
Drawing from his own experience, Shekhar elaborated on the critical role of district administration in maintaining law and order, overseeing developmental activities, resolving land-related issues, managing disasters, and conducting elections, including the revision of electoral rolls.
Key areas of discussion included enhancing employment opportunities for youth, improving coordination between line departments and district administrations for better implementation of government schemes, and the broader theme of strengthening district-level governance.
