DGM commissions Deep Tube Well

Department of Geology and Mining (DGM) commissioned deep tube well at Kandinu, K Station and Yikhanu Village on September 9, at Kandinu Village Council Hall.


A press release by the council stated that director, Directorate of Geology and Mining, Khikiya Kath Rengma, at the program appealed the community to conserve and preserve water bodies on priority.
Citing the importance of water bodies and the need to make environment healthy, he urged every citizens to take moral responsibility to recharge water bodies to save earth from water scarcity.


The release stated that three villages under Tseminyu faced acute water shortage for years making it impossible for villagers to bring water supply to locality to meet the need of the rural people.


Dy director (Geologist), Tosang Chang, in her technical report cited that the water was tapped from about 150 feet below ground and tested as one of the best water bored in the area. She urged the community to utilize the facility to the best. The event was attended by village leaders and Church leaders from six Kandi villages.
