DGM holds programme on ‘mines safety and environmental measures’

DIMAPUR: Directorate of Geology and Mining (DGM) conducted awareness-cum-capacity building programme on “Mines Safety and Environmental Measures” on July 10, at Town Hall, Dimapur.
A press release by DGM informed that the programme featured technical presentation by Deputy Controller of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Guwahati, Er. Ibrahim Sharief, who highlighted key aspects of mine safety, sustainable mining practices, environmental protection measures, and the importance of complying with statutory regulations governing mining operations.
Director, Newmai Asingbow, delivered the keynote address, while vote of thanks was proposed by joint director, Er. Kereisiezo Sachu, and the programme chaired by additional director, Er. Chirhotho Rasutho. The programme was attended by coal mining licence holders, village council members, and officials of the Directorate of Geology and Mining.
