DGU appeals Mamata to consider Gorkha’s aspiration

Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has expressed shock at the atrocities meted out on Gorkhas of Darjeeling by the West Bengal government under the leadership of Mamata Baneerji. It has also appealed Mamata Baneerji to wisely consider the aspiration of Gorkhas for a separate state.
A press note by DGU chairman, Kumar Subbaj stated that it firmly supports the demand of Gorkhas for separate state of Gorkhaland as Gorkhas had been demanding for the same since 110 years.
The union also stated that it was very unfortunate that under the direction of West Bengal government, harmless public of Darjeeling had been executed while observing peaceful procession.  DGU stated that “this is an absolute murder of democracy and a great precedence toward human right violation” which would be a “black subject” in the history of the Gorkhas of India.
The union further stated that Gorkhas had always been loyal and sacrificed for the betterment of the nation and has appealed the nation, people, leaders and politicians to support and deliver justice to the Gorkhas of India.  DGU also paid tribute to the three Gorkha martyrs and prayed that the departed souls rest in peace and that God grant solace to the bereaved family members.
