A two-day district workshop on “Mental health matters: Understanding mental health and wellness” was conducted by District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) School of Nursing in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoH&FW) Kohima on February 22-23.
A press release by DHD School of Nursing informed that the resource persons of the workshop were NTs, namely Limasungla Aier and Vive. S. Chishi, Yashirenla Jamir and Limabenla.
Various topics such as, “common mental health problems: understanding”, “importance of mental health & wellness” and “healthy eating/body image”, “burn out and how to reduce burn out”, “resilience”, “mental health first aid” and “health relationships” were highlighted during the workshop.
The guest speaker of the programme was District Mental Health Programme Dimapur, Nodal officer Dr. A. Temsuyanger Ao, and the training coordinator was DHD School of Nursing principal, Bendangnaro.
The workshop was attended by nurses from different districts of Nagaland, Community Health Officers (CHOs), staff nurses, ANM from various Sub-Centers/Health and Wellness Centre, Community Health Centre (CHC), Primary Health Centre (PHC) and District Hospitals of Peren, Longleng, Medziphema, Noklak, Wokha, Zunheboto, Chümoukedima, Niuland and Dimapur districts.
