Under the North Eastern Council (NEC) District Horticulture Office (DHO) Dimapur distributed winter vegetables seeds to 10 identified villages at DHO, here, on Tuesday.
The seeds were distributed as part of the post-pandemic economic recovery activities under the North Eastern Council (NEC) 2020-21.
The identified beneficiaries were from Tsithrongse (Dhansiripar block), Murise (Dhansiripar block), Pimla (Dhansiripar block), Tinyiphe (Chumukedima block), Vikheto (Aghunaqa block), Tseipama (Medziphema block), Seithekema C (Medziphema block), Xelhozhe (Kuhuboto block), Ghotovi (Niuland block) and Naga united (Khuboto block).
District Horticulture Office, Dimapur Temsu mentioned that there was a total of 10 vegetable villages under NEC 2020-21, out of which there was a total of one thousand beneficiaries, hundred beneficiaries from each village.
Temsu expressed hoped that with the distribution of the seeds, it would help the beneficiaries to generate surplus produce to improve the economic condition of the people and the state.
The seeds include potato, cabbage, lettuce, beans, carrot, onion, beetroot, peas, and broccoli.
