DHS, AR, district administration combined health camp in Kiphire

Assam Rifles (AR) 7th Battalion, Kiphire organised a medical camp under “Operation Sadbhavana” at Phokphur village, Kiphire in collaboration with District Health Society (DHS) and District Administration, Kiphire on January 30.

A press release from district media officer, Kiphire, Atsali T stated that, Dr. L. Singson CMO, 7 Assam Rifles exhorted the villagers on the topic of promotion of health. Dr. Pewezo Khalo, DIO Kiphire encouraged parents to immunize their children for protection from vaccine preventable diseases. Many children were immunized and pregnant mothers received ANCs. Posters, pamphlets and leaflets were distributed to the villagers.
Free medical services like health checkups, essential medicines and health education on prevention and control of vector borne diseases, HIV and AIDs, ante natal checkups were offered. A total of 118 villagers, mostly women and children were treated.
Yantsuthong chairman village council, Phokphur, expressed gratitude to 7 Assam Rifles, District Health Society and the District Administration for their humanitarian service. Dr. Dhenni, MO NCD, Kiphire, Dr. Hyunilo, MO, (Ayush), CHC Pungro and a medical team comprising of nurses, lab technician, pharmacist, consultant NVBDCP, DMO (NHM), assisted the camp.
CMO Kiphire, Dr. E. Motsuthung lauded the efforts of the 7th Assam Rifles in building partnership with the District Health Society and District Administration in reaching out to remote border area villages.
