DHS Wokha organises MCH cum sterilisation camp

A Maternal Child Health (MCH) cum sterilisation camp was organised by District Health Society (DHS) Wokha, Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoH&FW) at Ralan Primary Health Centre (PHC), Wokha, Saturday.


A press release by the department stated that Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Wokha, Dr. Zubenthung Kikon, said the outreach camp was organised with the aim of providing free health services and family planning services for beneficiaries in the Ralan area.


Dr. Kikon thanked the medical directorate, Eleutheros Christian Society, district administration, gynaecologist, eye specialist and village councils of the Ralan area for their support in conducting the outreach camp. During the sterilisation camp, tubectomy was performed on more than 14 beneficiaries from Ralan and Bhandari by senior medical officer (Obs & Gynae) District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. Yanrenthung Jami.


The outreach camp was held with the support of CMO staff, medical officers and staff from various vertical programmes such as mobile medical unit, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, ASHAs, medical staff of Ralan PHC, Tongtongo and Liphayan Health and Wellness Centres.

Some of the health services provided during the camp are, blood pressure screening, ENT, immunization, dental, blood sugar test, general medical checkup, generation of Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Card etc. More than 230 beneficiaries availed the free health services during the MCH cum sterilisation camp.
