A seminar-cum-workshop on Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprise (PMFME) was conducted by District Industries Centre (DIC) Peren on November 4 at CFC Jalukie Town.
A press release by DIC Peren office informed that in a keynote address, DIC Peren general manager, K. Francis Hekavi explained on how under the scheme, aspiring and budding entrepreneurs would be assisted and helped to set quality standards. He said they would have an open access to markets through branding and marketing efforts.
In the technical session, FM DIC Peren, Alum Zeliang highlighted the scope and guidelines of PMFME scheme; district resource person, Peren, Iheilungna spoke on the eligibility criteria and application process and procedure in availing the benefits; Jalukie Town Trader’s Union president, Namrenbe Kenn gave a talk on ‘What is takes to be a successful entrepreneur’ and SBI Peren branch manager, Joydeep Das highlighted the participants on the bank’s evaluation for government sponsored scheme with special reference to PMFME scheme.
The programme was chaired by DIC Peren functional manager, Abeno Patton and vote of thanks was delivered by DIC Peren functional manager, Heqheshi Kinimi. The workshop was attended by farmers producers’ organization, self-help groups and individuals keen to take up food processing enterprises.
