New office building of DIC (Department of Industries & Commerce) was inaugurated on January 28 where the Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce, MK Mero was the chief guest.
Addressing the function, MK Mero, said looking at the present scenario, jobs are easy to come by and it the responsibility of the department to facilitate some industry so that entrepreneur can get their own income. He also added that it is the responsibility of the officers to identify genuine entrepreneur and see that industrial activities or processing units comes up so that department could find means to encourage the entrepreneur and also help them in whatever ways possible. He also highlighted some of the activities to be taken up by the department.
Director of Industries & Commerce, Keneilel Angami, who also spoke on the occasion, said having new building would not achieve the activities of the department and urged the officers and staff to have proper coordination and give their best to serve the people.
Short speeches were also delivered by SDO (C), Mhomo Tungoe, and Additional
Director of I&CI Bendangliba. The function was chaired by the general manager, Nchumbemo Patton, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Economic Investigator, DIC, Mhachan N. Kikon.
