State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) marginally increased the price of diesel by 20 paise a litre– the first increase in rates in over two months, but left petrol prices unchanged across the country.
After today’s rate revision, diesel price rose to Rs.90.94 per litre in Dimapur while in Kohima the price climbed to Rs.91.74 per litre.
According to IANS report, OMCs have preferred to maintain their watch prices on the global oil situation before making any revision in prices. The wait and watch plan of OMCs has come to the relief of consumers as no revision has been done during a period when crude prices were on the rise over a shortfall in US production and demand pick up.
