As mark of silent protest against unfounded and defamatory allegations leveled against the school; Staff of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur have informed that the school shall remain closed on February 23,2026.
Informing this through an advertisement, Staff secretary, Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Mrs. Amongla YS Jamir and staff representative Iloto Yepthomi however said all scheduled Board Examinations at the examination centre will proceed as per the timetable and will be unaffected.
The one-day closure comes in the wake of “misleading and defamatory allegations” circulated on social media claiming compulsory introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Abacus subjects and misconduct during Music Fest 2025, and other administrative issues.
They said the Holy Cross family has been deeply hurt by the deliberate attempts of certain vested interests to malign the reputation of the institution besides circulation of false, unverified, and defamatory content causing unwarranted harm to the integrity and public image of the school.
Further, they said a parent, under influence of alcohol, attended the February 13 meeting between School Board Members, DNSU and Parents and behaved in an aggressive manner threatening some board members.
