Dimapur Airport observes Yatri Seva Diwas

Airports Authority of India (AAI), Dimapur Airport, on Wednesday commemorated Yatri Seva Diwas, a day dedicated to serving and celebrating passengers, by conducting a host of activities aimed at enhancing passenger experience and strengthening community relations.
The observance included a tilak ceremony (applying Tika to willful arriving and departing passengers), medical camp, blood donation drive, free medical check-ups, tree plantation, and an educational exposure tour for students.
Highlighting the significance of the day and the activities, director, AAI Dimapur Airport, Er Moatemjen Pongen, informed that the blood donation drive, held in collaboration with District Hospital Dimapur, saw the participation of around 20 donors. He added that the medical camp and check-ups were conducted with support from Chief Medical Officer’s office Dimapur.
Highlighting on the exposure visit, he stated that 20 students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Diphupar, accompanied by two teachers, were given a guided tour of the airport premises.
Students were shown various sections of the airport, including the terminal, airside areas, and operational units, control tower, to provide them with first-hand knowledge of how an airport functions on a daily basis.
He remarked that such outreach activities not only bridge gap between the airport and the community but also help to create awareness among young people about the role of aviation in connectivity and economic development.
Meanwhile, after the exposure trip, an interaction session was also held with the officials from AAI Dimapur Airport.
