Dimapur ASHAs trained on pediatric care in COVID-19

Training on pediatric care in COVID-19 for ASHAs was held block-wise in Dimapur district from August 20-27 to train ASHAs on Covid care management, especially in pediatric age group (0-18 years).

In a press release, district media officer Kimnei informed that ASHAs were trained to identify danger signs in children such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and also on community surveillance of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).

They were also sensitised on dispelling prevailing myths related to COVID-19, identifying comorbities in children, how to use oximeter, etc.

ASHAs were also oriented on roles and responsibilities in the community during the pandemic.

The district trainers included senior medical officers, medical officers and community health officers of various health centers which included Dr. Khrieketoulie Liezietsu, Dr. Imtiwabong Aier, Dr. Asho, Dr. Hukiye, Dr. Rosemary, Dr. Narola, Dr. Chamzai Newme, Kimneingah Singsit, and Warnihring Bungsong assisted by Imlilemla, DCM and respective block ASHA coordinators.
