Dimapur Athletics to celebrate ‘World Kids Athletics Day’

Dimapur Athletics, under the aegis of the Nagaland Athletics Association, will celebrate “World Kids Athletics Day 2026” on May 7 at Pilgrim Higher Secondary Ground, Kuda B, Dimapur. The event also marks the milestone of “Celebrating 5 Years” of promoting grassroots athletics in the region.
The programme is designed to encourage children to take part in athletics, build physical fitness and nurture sporting talent from an early age. Competitions will be held across three age categories: under 8 years (5-meter approach run long jump), under 10 years (60-meter sprint) and under 12 years (kids javelin throw).
Participants must undergo age verification between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM by presenting valid documents such as Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate. The event is open to both boys and girls, with participation and merit certificates to be awarded.
Organized in association with recognized athletics bodies, the celebration emphasizes sportsmanship, fun and fitness.
