Dimapur-based doctor, Mujibur Rahman, a senior consultant gynaecologist and IVF specialist at Pratiksha Hospital, Guwahati, has been recognized as one of the best doctors in the fields of gynaecology and IVF (Test tube baby) on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day.
The award acknowledges his outstanding contributions to the fields of gynaecology, infertility and IVF treatments. Dr. Rahman received this award for his exceptional work in the field of IVF and Infertility in the Northeastern region for introducing cutting-edge technologies to benefit infertile couples in the North East. As one of the founding trustees of Pratiksha Hospital, Guwahati, he was also the first person to perform a surrogate pregnancy in Northeast India and pioneered the introduction of advanced IVF technologies.
Over the past 20 years, Dr. Rahman has successfully treated numerous infertile couples with a high success rate. Dr. Rahman originally hails from Dimapur, and completed his schooling in Holy Cross School, securing 3rd rank in Nagaland board in 1982. He completed his MBBS from Silchar Medical College and his MD from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh.
