Dimapur DLSA visits central and district jail

As part of Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) action plan for January, DDLSA members visited central and district jails on Thursday.
A press release by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) stated that the team was led by secretary DDLSA and chief judicial magistrate, Dimapur, Ajongba Imchen along with the DDLSA retainer lawyer and panel lawyers.
During the visit, an interaction session was held with the Under Trail Prisoners (UTPs) wherein UTPs were sensitized on rights of an accused person. Queries were made about their stay in the prison and whether the UTPs were facing any problems or hardships.
A brief highlight was given about DDLSA and the panel lawyers working under it and on how to avail free legal services for those who fulfill the criteria which was made known to them.
