Dimapur electrical division of the State’s power department has re-notified terms and conditions for availing new power connection by individuals.
According to the notification issued by Dimapur electrical division executive engineer Er Imsenkaba, an intending consumer would have to pay the cost of service line and equipments, including the cost of installation, immediately on receipt of the relevant estimate from an authorised office of the department under Clause 5(A) of General Condition of Supply 2007, Government of Nagaland.
He said the estimate would be valid up to three months from the date of issue of the estimate to the consumer, unless there was a statutory compulsion. The estimate/bill should invariably contain specifically the period of validity of such estimates/bills, he added.
Further, under Clause 5(B), he said service lines would be laid by the power department after receipt of payment for the service line charges. Imsenkaba explained that the terms and conditions had been re-notified for smooth implementation and avoid any communication gap between consumers and the power department.
