Dimapur observes National Voters Day

Dimapur has observed ‘National Voters’ Day’ on Sunday on the theme “Easy registration, easy correction” in the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner of Excise, Moangwati Aier said that young voters have the strength to change the government and should voice out in the society, adding it is the need of time to encourage the young voters.
While emphasizing on mass enrollment of young voters, he said many young voters in Nagaland were still left out.
Every citizen who have attained the age of 18 years has the constitutional duty to cast vote and also the right to enjoy all rights, liberties and freedoms as per our constitution, said Moang. He called upon the new young voters to make it a bounden duty and moral obligation to bring the much needed change in the society. 
On the occasion badges and EPIC were given to all the newly enrolled voters. Citation along with some cash was also awarded to five best booth level officers from the 5 area constituencies of Dimapur District.
Certificate of appreciation and cash prizes were awarded to the winners of essay writing competition namely Kalito Awomi of Assisi Higher Secondary School, Tongpangtangla of Christian Higher Secondary School, and Rachel Swu of Eastern Academy Higher Secondary School.
Deputy Commissioner & DEO, Dimapur, Wezope Kenye chaired the programme and read out message on national voters’ day send by Chief Election Commissioner, Government of India, while the vote of thanks was proposed by ADC & ERO, Dimapur, Elizabeth Ngully.
