Dimapur Police has informed that in separate incidents, Dimapur police have seized a huge consignment of illegal liquor from one truck (AS-01 CC 2993) with approximately 1000 cases of assorted IMFL from LRC Colony, Dimapur on July 13.
A press note by additional deputy commissioner of police/PRO stated in this connection, one Kailash Sahu, son of Radha Sahu of Kalibarihabi, Udalguri has been arrested.
On July 16, PRO said a truck (NL-05G 0409) was intercepted at 7th Mile area, Dimapur and 30 cases of assorted IMFL was seized, which was found concealed among other goods. In this connection, one Jalaluddin, son of late Nurzul Islam of Lahorijan, Assam has been arrested.
The AET of Dimapur Police arrested one Bipon Deb, son of Shanto of Khatikora and, present resident of Thahekhu village, Dimapur on July 12, when he was trying to extort money from business establishment at NL Road, Dimapur. Money in cash and leaflets of NNC (PCN) were also seized from his possession.
Similarly on July 13, Dimapur police arrested one Aghato, son of Tovishe of Zutovi village, Dimapur in connection to a theft of a Motorcycle from Zutovi village on July 12. Dimapur Police also arrested one Viloto Sumi, son of late Nihoto Kiba, resident of Supply Colony, Dimapur on July 15. The accused was involved in stealing a Scooty from Hotel Pink City, Dimapur on July 14. The stolen scooty was also seized from his possession.
One Vikugha Awomi, son of Johovi Awomi, resident of Notun Bosti, Dimapur was arrested from Railway Colony, Dimapur on July 17 for stealing and being in possession of a Motorcycle reported stolen on June 4.
On July 13, the 32 Assam Rifles produced before the Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur approximately 330 Kgs of contraband ganja found packed in 21 different packets. The contraband was seized from the possession of one Joypaul Poumai, son of Sani Poumai of Lau village, Senapati when his vehicle bearing registration NL-02C 9625 was intercepted at Diezephe village, Dimapur.
Dimapur Police arrested one Dhan Bahadur, son of Bhim Bahadur of Senapati, Manipur after his vehicle bearing registration NL-05C 0611 was intercepted at Super Market area, Dimapur on July 17, loaded with approximately 100 Kgs of contraband Ganja packed in 10 packets.
