Dimapur wins Parliamentary Quiz Competition

Dimapur district with a total of 125 points emerged as the winner of State Level Parliamentary Quiz Competition 2022-23 held at Imagine Hall, ATI, here on Friday.
Kiphire with 115 points, Longleng with 80 points and Mokokchung with 45 points were placed in the second, third and fourth positions respectively.
Earlier in a short speech, commissioner & secretary, Wezope Kenye said the competition embodies the curiosity and the desire to learn and explore new ideas. He said the competition also was a reminder that knowledge was not just about memorizing but was also about understanding and how they fit together to create a bigger picture. He added that apart from answering questions correctly, the competitors also could showcase their abilities to think critically, to analyse and interpret information and to apply in a real world scenario.
Kenye said the competition should also enable the participants to demonstrate their creativity, innovations and their capacity to think outside the box. The competition was hosted by asst professor, Kohima college, Dr Evothung Ezung while welcome address was delivered by asst prof, Kohima college, Dr Eunice Alinger. Vote of thanks was proposed by JSO, Parliamentary Affairs Department, Mewelo Kepfoh.
