On the 5th day of the Phom Moonyiü festival, Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai (DYBP) organised a special Moonyiü programme on April 5, at the residence of former minister S. Pangnyu Phom, Eralibill Village, Dimapur.
A press release by DYBP informed that addressing the gathering as the special guest, director, agriculture, S Yongchang Phom, exhorted the congregations to uphold spirit of togetherness, hospitality towards others, and the will to serve for common cause for the betterment and progress of our society.
He also called upon younger generation to take forward the good legacy of their elders and be more vigilant and confident to take any responsibility in bringing holistic changes in all aspects.
The programme began with an invocation by Home Evangelist, PBAD, Y Konnyei, welcome address by president, O Yanger Phom, and significance of the festival by C Hamba Nemdakly.
Highlights of the programme included modern folk song by Dimapur Yachem Anüti Lunglak and an act play on Ajibangkhüm, the origin of Moonyiü, by Dimapur Yachem Students’ Union.
