DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (NPN): Dimapur District Football Referee Association (DDFRA) on Sunday felicitated Chingshen P. Buchem, the first referee from Dimapur district and the second from Nagaland to attain national referee status.
The programme, held at the DDFRA office, Dimapur also honoured Vihokhe K, the first national futsal referee from Nagaland, and Avar Danla, who recently obtained the AFC ‘B’ diploma under the All India Football Federation. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the achievers.
Congratulating the three members and welcoming new member Pivito Kiba, DDFRA president Shiyito Achumi recalled the association’s humble beginnings since its inception in 1997. He said the milestone of producing a national referee was the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream, attributing the achievements to God’s blessing. He further emphasized discipline and teamwork as guiding principles of the association.
In his words of achievement, Chingshen credited the association’s support and guidance for his success, and urged fellow referees to pursue their goals with patience, courage and confidence. Words of appreciation were also shared by Avar Danla and Vihokhe K, who thanked the association for organising the programme. Members of the association also joined in congratulating the achievers.
The programme, chaired by Kumgha Yepthomi, began with invocation by vice president Vikato and prayer by pastor Ren of Faith in Action Healing Centre, Seithekema. Vote of thanks was delivered by general secretary G. Kami, followed by benediction from Athrong.
