Dipke claims BJP aiming for ‘One Nation, One Party’

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR (MAHARASHTRA), OCT 6 (PTI): Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday slammed the BJP-led central government, alleging that the real goal behind ‘One Nation, One Election’ is “one nation, one political party,” while accusing the Maharashtra police of harassment and asking why Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was trying to be “Yogi Adityanath 2.0”.
Ahead of his proposed fresh agitation at Jantar Mantar on October 10, Dipke alleged that police in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district were issuing notices to CJP activists, pressuring them not to attend the party’s planned protest to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the SIR exercise and the functioning of the poll body.
Attacking the BJP-led government at a press conference here, Dipke said, “One Nation, One Election is just a slogan. The actual intention of the ruling dispensation is to push the country toward ‘one nation, one political party’.”
Alleging that the “true objective” behind one nation, one election was to “snatch away the voting rights guaranteed to citizens by Dr B R Ambedkar,” Dipke said “this is not about one party or ideology, it is a fight for the survival of Indian democracy.”
“I have said multiple times that the Maharashtra Police is the best police force in the country, and the Delhi Police should learn from them. But it is heart-breaking that the Chandrapur police served notices to CJP workers, asking them not to participate in the protest at Jantar Mantar. They also asked CJP workers about the source of funds for travelling to Jantar Mantar,” he said.
“The police stated (in the notice) that the agitation is going to be “violent”. How do the police know so early that the agitation would be violent? Have they planned anything in advance?’’ he asked.

“Why is the Maharashtra Police behaving like Delhi Police? What do they have to do if a person is going to Delhi from Chandrapur?” he said.
