DIPR launches ‘Naga News’ mobile app

With an aim to adapt and adopt new demands of technology and means of communication, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has launched an application “Naga News” for Smartphone users. The application was launched Wednesday by DIPR director Pausui Zeliang in a brief programme held at IPR directorate.
Giving a brief introduction on the application, DIPR deputy director Asangla Imsong said that information and communication technology was causing major changes in the way one live. 
She informed that “Naga News” is a daily news bulletin published by the department since 1972 which primarily focuses on the government’s programmes and policies and developmental activities.
Asserting that the department was making every effort in disseminating government’s policies and activities effectively and timely, Imsong said the launching of the app was a significant move towards achieving the goal.
She informed that people using Smartphone with an android operating system could download the app for free while informing that the department would soon be making the app available in other operating systems.
The deputy director also expressed gratitude to director and additional director, Limawati for spearheading the project and for their constant support during the process of building the app. 
She also thanked Ben Imchen and his team from Elysium Enterprise for taking up the project and successfully completing it in a short span of time.
Developer of the application, director Elysium Enterprise Ben Imchen in his brief address on the components of the application highlighted the various sections that one can access on the application.
 Imchen said that one can search for any news archived in the application including photographs, important government notifications, advertisements and other information. 
He further added that information related to the government set up including contact numbers etc. could also be accessed easily from this application.
The programme was attended by DIPR staff and officials and media persons.
