Nagaland chief secretary, Pankaj Kumar, while highlighting the importance of directorate said it formed the bridge between the secretariat and district and was an important factor in system.
Speaking at the Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA) 1st biennial conference at Molu Ki Merhülietsa, Kohima on November 22 as chief guest, Kumar appreciated NDMSA for conducting such an event for the first time in the history of the association which was formed in the year 1975.
According to a press release by NDMSA president, M. Renthungo Tungoe, the chief secretary said the occasion was a privilege for him to interact with all the different department staffs on an individual level.
Kumar also encouraged the association members to maintain a check-list system while discharging duties in order to keep track of the things they were doing.
He also said that adequate refreshers course and in-service training were imparted to the ministerial cadres and said that government should programmes for directorate staff while planning such policies.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by president, L.Tali Imsong, group song by the Health & Family Welfare directorate, presentation time was taken by Thinuohelie Sachü, assistant general secretary and highlights of association was given by R. Wati Imchen, advisor NDMSA, Vetülü Kronu and Chubatola presented a special number each and M. Renthungo Tungoe delivered the vote of thanks. A. Temsumenla Pongener was the compeer of the conference.
A new team of office bearers for the tenure 2017-19 were also inducted with M. Renthungo Tungoe as the president and Longngam Konyak as general secretary. More than 1000 members from the directorates in Kohima and Dimapur attended the conference.
