District advisory youth programme held in Kohima

A meeting of the district advisory youth programme (DAYP) was held at the DC’s conference hall, Kohima on December 19.

According to DIPR report, chairing the meeting, ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa lauded the NYK for their activities towards promoting and building the youth clubs of the district. She also appreciated the services rendered by the NYK volunteers in assisting the district administration in the management and distribution of relief materials to the stranded people who have been directly affected during the lockdown period.
District youth co-ordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kohima, John Makhabo said that the activities carried out under NYK were mostly of capacity building with some sports activities to encourage the youth club and to channelize their potential towards nation building. He highlighted the activities and achievements made during the year 2019-2020.
Cumulative report of activities conducted by NYKS field functionaries, NYVs and youth clubs members for prevention and mitigation of COVID-19 as on October 13, 2020, were also highlighted by the district youth co-ordinator. He informed that activities on popularising, educating and motivating families for making face mask at home and training of youth leaders and volunteers on 04 modules were also conducted through social media platforms besides other activities. He also presented the NYK Sangathan core programmes annual action plan 2020-2021 to the advisory board members for approval and suggestions.
