District health society conducts Health Mela at Suphayan village

One day health mela was conducted at Suphayan village under Bhandari block, Wokha district January 31 by the district health society (National Health Mission) H&FW Wokha.
Altogether, 308 patients availed free medical checkups and received medicines, which included three lap-ligation, five CU-T insertions, three ANC check-ups, eight dental extractions, 18 ophthalmic cases (refractive errors), one cataract, 57 blood test on malaria and five sputum tests.
Mobile integrated counselling and testing centres (ICTC) team also conducted 57 blood tests.
Information, education and communication (IEC) team conducted focus group discussion (FGD) and inter-personal communication (IPC) sessions on the importance of maternal child health, family planning, immunization, breastfeeding, Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) and Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), leprosy, Iodine.  Nutritional packs were given to the pregnant and lactating mothers. Posters, handouts, leaflets on different health topics in local dialect were also distributed to the villagers.
A team of nine doctors led by CMO Dr. Enrithung, MS Dr. W.N Ezung, deputy CMO Dr.Tumchobeni, DPO (NVBDCP) Dr. Zuben Kikon, DTO Dr. Benchilo, ZLO Dr. Mhonchan, Obs & Gynae Dr. Yanren, Dr. Chonben, Dr. Nzanthung (Dental) along with Ophthalmic Assistant, Lab- technician, from RNTCP, NVBDCP, IDSP, ICTC, pharmacist, nurses, and medical assistants provided medical aid to the villagers.
