District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) relocation: CWS announces 3rd phase stir from today; Tuensang bandh on June 21

Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) or Chang Students’ Conference has announced that it would continue with the indefinite agitation over relocation of District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) in Tuensang district.
Informing this in a press release, Chang Wedoshi Setshang president C Pongsu and general secretary Ebou Naset said that the apex student body of the Chang community would begin its third phase of agitation from June 20 whereby a programme would be held at Tower Clock, Tuensang town at 9 a.m., followed by staging of protest outside the residences of the elected members from 10 to 12 noon. Thereafter, entire business establishments would be forced to shut down completely from 1 p.m.
On June 21, the student body said it would impose total bandh in Tuensang town from 8 a.m. till the government fulfilled its demand.
CWS said that the first phase of agitation began on June 13 and the second phase from June 15.
Chang Wedoshi Setshang expressed regret that the State government had turned deaf ears towards the issue.
Further, claiming that this was not the first time that Tuensang district had suffered or was suffering to obtain due rights since the creation of Nagaland, the CWS said that it would not remain silent over the matter of deprivation regarding developmental opportunities of the district.
